About my family

Hubby

Hubby is my best friend, the love of my life, the best looking man I have ever been lucky enough to kiss, and the best snuggler I have ever snuggled. I give him a pretty hard time and he takes it all in his stride with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He is always smiling, always optimistic, always enthusiastic and the greatest company I could ever keep. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have him in my life, let alone be married to him. We met when I was 18 and have been inseparable ever since. He proposed after 6 years of dating and we were married a year later.

Bubby

Bubby is the new love of my life. He came about after much planning and thought and decisions (and many, many, tests!) We had almost given up hope after 6 months of trying (we aren't very patient people) and were away on holidays in Fiji when we both noticed I was acting very strangely. We realised on the plane on the way home that Bubby had been created! We didn't even need a test to know (although I took 7 just to be sure when we got home!) He was born after a less-than-ideal pregnancy (morning sickness til 24 weeks, gestational diabetes from 26 weeks!) and a less-than-ideal labour (13 hours of induced labour where I self-anaesthetised myself on nitrous oxide before having an emergency cesarean) and as soon as we met my life was turned on its head and will never be the same since. I didn't understand what mothers meant when they described the indescribable love they have for their babies and now all of a sudden I get it. He is my everything.

Golly

Not to be forgotten, Golly is the boss of our house (he thinks). We originally had Golly and Rowdy (named after our fathers) but beloved Rowdy was taken from us when I was 6 months pregnant. Golly has since come out of his shell to be a very loud, bossy and demanding cat. Luckily, that's only once a day at dinner time! He is an impeccably behaved cat who never jumps up on furniture, has 'accidents', bothers Bubby or harasses visitors. He is happy to sleep in his basket, or in the laundry on the old suitcases. Occasionally he tries to bring us 'gifts' and on one memorable occasion brought Bubby his very own 'present' when we returned from hospital. It was proudly presented on Bubby's playmat. He has the most adorable habit of sticking his tongue out whenever he's happy! Golly has shown that he is very adaptable and is more than okay with our new family addition and is taking his role as big brother quiet seriously!
